Four Arizona Innovators Take Lead In Economic Recovery

01 Mar

PHOENIX, AZ (February 28, 2013) – Four Arizona-based innovators −Infusionsoft, Cyracom International, Dixon Golf and the University of Advancing Technology  −are taking the lead in the state’s economic recovery through entrepreneurial vision   and technological innovation.

Chandler, Arizona-based Infusionsoft provides sales and marketing software for small businesses with 25 or fewer employees. Recognized as one of The Fastest Growing Companies in North America (Deloitte’s 2012 Technology Fast 500), Infusionsoft has secured more than 12,000 customers with over 44,000 users to date. Staffed by 350 employees, Infusionsoft expects to grow to more than 1,000 employees by 2016.

Tucson-headquartered language interpretation innovator CyraCom International chose to grow its business in Arizona due to the state’s large, linguistically diverse population and very low incidents of natural disasters. In December 2012, CyraCom ranked in the top 100 privately owned job creators in the United States, employing 900 people with plans to expand beyond 1,100 in 2013.

Tempe-based Dixon Golf is the creator of the world’s first biodegradable golf ball. “We had this idea of saving the world one golf ball at a time,” says William Carey, CEO of Dixon Golf, which in 2012, became the fastest-expanding company in the industry. With sustainability is a cornerstone of its culture, Dixon’s manufacturing facility is lit by LED lights, powered by solar panels, and recycles water used in the manufacturing process. Currently with 250 employees, Dixon Golf plans to hire 100 more this year. Through the Dixon Challenge, Dixon Golf donated $400,000 to charities in 2012.

The University of Advancing Technology (UAT) in Tempe is an urban campus that gathers digital technology mavens and develops them into top technology executives, master programmers, robotic engineers, and other innovators for entertainment and government animation applications. Approximately 1,000 students from all over the world attend UAT, which offers real world job experience through partnerships with organizations including Mesa Arts Center, First Robotics, AZ Sci Tech Festival, TedX, Arizona Science Center, Phoenix Comicon, the City of Surprise TechCelerator, Kinetic Muscles Incorporated, MicroChip, Cummings Engineering and Dignity Heath.
